Welcome to descriptions.txt! This commentary will be a bit different from my earlier commentaries. I started making "Grasses" right after my last album "Windowcube". In this album i attmepted to fix some problems my earlier albums had. One of the first problems i had was that i made tracks instead of actually putting effort into said tracks. Here i focused on making the album longer, instead of adding more tracks. Despite this album having 3 less tracks than my last album, its amlost 10 minutes longer. 1. Grasses Despite being the first track on the album, this track is actually the second-to-last track made specifically for the album. This song doesnt really have a meaning and doesnt even have much relation to the album in general "John Mustardseed" is a made up name, despite it sounding very similar to "John Appleseed". I am not associated with Apple in any way. Another problem i attempted to fix in this album are the horrible Transitions. There is no transition between Track 1 and 2, but there are transitions between amlost all other tracks on the album. 2. Cold Welcome This was actually the first track i made for the album. It was supposed to be a more calming/Ambient tone to it, with no really song structure or melody. This is the first song to have a "transition", transitioning into the next Track. There is a hidden message inside of the song, i wonder how long it takes until somebody decodes it, matter of fact. Theres actually two. But one of them is way easier to find. Otherwise, there is no notable info about this song. This song ends off with some Vinyl crackling. Which transitions somewhat perfectly into the next track, as earlier mentioned. What does this Vinyl Crackling mean? probably nothing. Thats up to your interpretation. 3. Beograd This song starts off with some vinyl crackling, i have already mentioned this crackling noise 3 times in this commentary. If you havent listened to my earlier music (lucky you), this song is a remix/remake of the first ever track i made for atrohdonect. The old version of this track is called "When i go to belgrad it might sound like this". I shortened the name, cuz im not into long names anymore... I think. This Song reuses the same melody and chords, also using a bit of the melody from the track after the original song "[Croatia]". This song sounds somewhat samey, cuz i didnt really want to make it too different from the original. 4. Ability This was also one of the last songs i made specifically for this Album, i actually did make this song in a whole day in a call with a dear friend of mine. Theres not too many special things to say about this track aside that i learned how to make a good song structure. Yeah. 5. I dont Know This song is actually pretty old, originating from sometime after my second album "Peak of The Hill" was released. This song was about... Me not knowing what to write about. The Lyrics have essentially no meaning, and all talk about the same thing. Me not knowing what to write for a song. The Character in this song is not me, because he dies at the end of the song, But i dont. So that cant be me. An early version of this song exists with unfinished vocals (the lyrics arent any different though). This version is unfortunately lost to time. This song abruptly ends. As i mentioned earlier, this implies that the main character in the song dies. He will never appear again in atrohdonect history. Rest in Piece, "Unnamed I dont know guy 3". I dont know what happened to the other 2. 6. Jitterlings This is track 6 "Jitterlings", this song doesnt really have many special things, aside that this is one of the only 2 main tracks that you couldve heard before the album came out. This song was somewhat inspired by my most popular song "Wall" (atleast as of writing this). There is another song that is similar to "Wall" but i scrapped it cuz i noticed that no one that listens to this album actually cares about the song. This song transitions into the next track with a synth sound. I cant really describe it well. But if you heard it, youd know. 7. Ive got some falling to do This is a cover of the Lemon Demon song with the same name. I didnt really change anything except the end. This obviously uses different Instruments and VSTs, i sadly couldnt replicate it perfectly from the orignal, probably because the original was made over 20 years ago. I am somewhat proud of my singing in this song, since its the first time i could listen to my singing without cringing the fuck out. 8. Passerby This song is not that special to me. I actually released this song early on Newgrounds, before i released this Album. The only other song i did this with was "Welcome to Everythingsville" a Track that appears later in the album. Also this song is my first attempt at "Vocoding". As you can tell im horribly bad at it. I still am somewhat fond of this song. The Last note of the melody Transitions into the next Track. Its not a perfect Transition but it works. 9. Welcome to Everythingsville This song starts with a slow Intro, i tried my hardest to make this its own seperate track, as it was too short. And i tried to avoid Short songs as much as i can. As i mentioned earlier, this song was available to listen early on Newgrounds. This song was inspired by "Dont Recycle" by Deporitaz. I really like this song for the drumbeat, one half of the beat was made by me, and the other part was just a break loop i found on the Internet, so i didnt really make it entirely by myself. I reused The melody and Chords from the beggining at the end too, With the infamous "Amen break" obviously. 10. Get ready for this, Champs! This was actually the second Track i made for the album in general. This song is somewhat good in some aspects, but i personally do not like it. I think this song drags on for too long. Fun Fact: incase u havent noticed, this song is the second longest track on the album! I also didnt really have much fun making this track in general, it was a pain in the ass to make for whatever reason. The only part of this song i enjoyed making was the "8-bit Chiptune" part. Because its the most simple part. 11. Very Original Song Titles Incoming This is the last track i made for the Album. The Voice Sample is me saying "I dont want to look anymore" but in a weird way. This song is very silent for whatever reason. Or maybe thats just my headphones... I dont know. In the middle of the song the melody entirely changes. I like this part more than the First part. Since the drop hits harder. 12. Egg Yolk This is probably my least Favourite song on the Main Tracks of the Album. It just doesnt sound right in a way i cant describe. Luckily this song is fairly short, since i dont like it. I have a lot of children, and i dont like some of them. 13. Monopoly This is the last Track of the Main Tracks of the album. I like this song, The begininng references another song, I forgot the name of the song though. The beginning of this song is inspired by "Eventuality" by Lemon Demon. The lyrics are Nonsensical, and have no meaning. Maybe "Life is but a Monopoly" could mean something, but i wouldnt know since i dont know what a "Monopoly" is. After the lyrical part the song just keeps playing until... uh..... i guess the song just abruptly ends, this song is split into 4 parts. Part 1, which is the lyrical part. Part 2, For which i dont have a name. Part 2 smoothly transitions into Part 3. And Part 4 is the Weird Outro. Anyway less talking, more talking. Part 2 Actually uses the same chord progression as Part 1, just pitched down one semitone. So thats a little fun fact. The last track has always been the longest Track in EVERY album i have made until now, so i think thats pretty cool. Part 3 Is just Part 3 but Mixed with Part 2, the melody just carries on as normal. There is actually a beta version of this song called "MIDI Reliant", which is lost. Part 3 gets abruptly cut off into this weird Outro thing i made by just spamming LFOs and different Automations, Also heavily distorted sound effects. This song ends with me saying "Just remember, stop playing to over and over a-", which Transitions perfectly into the First track. It also transitions somewhat well into the first Bonus Track. 14. hjon This is a very old Track that i made before atrohdonect, it is probably the oldest song to be featured in an atrohdonect album. A problem with a lot of these pre-atrohdonect song is the short length. Most of my old songs were 0.5-1.5 Minutes long. Otherwise i think this Song sounds good, maybe a bit loud. 15. The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny (atrohdonect remix) This is an Instrumental Remix of Lemon Demons hit song "The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny". I originally wanted to cover the vocals of this song too, but i ended up not doing it.... Well except for the first Chorus. This song was also available to listen early on Newgrounds. Fun Fact: This is actually the first time that the amount of Bonus Tracks has gone down in the entirety of atrohdonect history, think of that what you will. Making Instrumental (and even Vocal) covers of songs has been a really great practice, thats why i made so many of them. 16. Mega Hey Ya! Title & Inspiration from Neil Cicieregas "Super Hey Ya!" which was a hidden song in his album "View-Monster". This song is a cover of the OutKast song "Hey ya!" I sadly didnt cover the full song for whatever reason. This song is more of a shitpost than a serious Remix, since i dont actually listen to Outkast. This is the Last Track of the Entire album, i want to thank you reading this.
